Commuter robbed, zapped with stun gun, thrown on Philadelphia tracks; he’s
The victim fell on his head on the tracks as the man and woman robbers were captured on video making their getaway.
SEPTA Police Police are searching for a man and woman caught on camera stealing from a man on a SEPTA train, using a Taser on him and leaving him on train tracks.
Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority officials say the man was dozing in a auto on the Market-Frankford elevated line as it pulled into Millbourne Station early Sunday.
Surveillance video shows the couple standing over the man as he sleeps.
A man and a woman stole his backpack while he was sound asleep. He woke up and chased them off the train, and a struggle followed. On the platform, the female suspect took out a Taser and stunned the victim, causing him to fall to the ground, flip over and land on the train tracks below.
The video shows him slowing getting to his feet, then tripping and landing on the electrified third rail.
Luckily, its thick cover protected the man from potentially being fatally electrocuted.
The third rail on the El carries about 700 volts, Busch said.
‘At a few point, he regains consciousness, walks out of the tracks and on to 69th Street Station, where he summoned help, ‘ SEPTA Transit Police Capt. Daryl Jones said.
The man, who was jolted awake by the couple snatching his bag, runs after them and gets in a scuffle with the male assailant.
He was hospitalized for a concussion and other injuries and released.
