Actor and model Sam Sarpong dies after fall from bridge
It’s reported police officers had spent seven hours trying to talk him down from a bridge in Pasadena on Monday before he jumped.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office says the case is being investigated as a possible suicide.
Sarpong, who was the brother of popular UK TV host, June Sarpong, had appeared in multiple fashion campaigns for Hilfiger, as well as shows for top designers such as Gucci and Versace.
News and on Twitter, the former “That 70s Show” actor said he was both “sad and so confused” about Sarpong’s death.
Sarpong was pronounced dead at 3:52 p.m. on Monday in Pasadena, California.
Stars who have previously worked with June took to Twitter upon hearing the news to share their condolences with the TV presenter. His friend and series co-host Wilmer Valderrama, shared a very emotional message and throwback photo of them together on the show when he learned of Sam’s untimely passing.
“It is sad and troubling when an individual has become so despondent that he or she feels their only option is to end their life”.
Sam Sarpong’s friends and family are still coming to terms with the tragic loss of the British-American model, actor, and TV personality.
He pursued a career in showbusiness after his plans to play professional basketball stalled, and he found fame as a model for Tommy Hilfiger. “My heart goes out to you & your family”.
“His first onscreen role was in an episode of Claire Danes” “My So-Called Life” in 1994.
He added, “Find your peace my brother!”
Valderrama continued by imploring anyone “in a dark place” to reach out for help. ”And to everyone in a dark place”. PLEASE, please talk to someone. “I went from barely being able to pay my bills to now being an global model”, he told Black Hollywood Live in July 2013, reports US Weekly.
