San Francisco Trader Josh Sanchez-Maldonado Goes Missing in London
Josh Sanchez-Maldonado, 24, has been missing for a week after flying to London for a job interview.
Though every other outlet reporting on Sanchez-Maldonado’s disappearance says that he is a financial trader based in San Francisco, the UK Guardian says that he actually lives in Puerto Rico with his mother, “while working on his MBA in finance and as a self-employed commodities and foreign exchange trader”.
An American trader has gone missing in London, cops officers allege, & his family has arrived within the United Kingdom within the hopes of finding him.
Sanchez-Maldonado works as a trader and was in the city for a job interview, police said.
He was due to fly to San Francisco via Dublin on 22 October, from Heathrow Airport, but he did not take the flight.
ABC reports that the U.S. Embassy in London is aware of Sanchez-Maldonado’s disappearance and is “working closely with his family and British police”.
He had spoken to his father daily since beginning his travels.
Sanchez-Maldonado was last seen leaving his hotel in west London on last Thursday and is believed to not have any money or access to it. Authorities said that the details of his job interview are unknown.
In a statement, his family described him as a “lovable” person and appealed for him to get in touch with them.
He was last seen wearing a dark coloured flat cap, a brown or grey T-shirt, white shorts and black trainers. “We really wish he contacts us as soon as possible”, Sanchez-Maldonado’s family said in a statement.
Anyone who has seen him, or may have information about where he is, is asked to contact police.
