Rayman Creator Michel Ancel Is Still Working With Ubisoft
Michel Ancel’s WiLD was announced at Gamescom previous year, but it has remained quiet ever since. The snake is required to summon a godlike being that will help the shaman create an antidote to help a person in his village. Once the Shaman manages to conjure her spirit, she slithers her way out of the waters in a manner befitting a sultry, yet scaly goddess, with her appearance reminiscent of Angelina Jolie’s as Grendel’s mother in Robert Zemeckis’ film adaptation of Beowulf.
WiLD appears to be an open-world action-survival game coming from developer Wild Sheep Studio that centers around the relationship between man and nature.
The principal enemies in Wild are other humans, however, which can be fought or avoided with or without the help of animals.
Ancel stressed that everything shown was part of the game’s emergent world.
“Haha! Who said I was working on Beyond Good & Evil 2?”
Although WiLD takes us to what’s now a trendy pre-historic setting (Far Cry: Primal, Horizon Zero Dawn), it’s the mechanics of the game that make this so special. While the cannibals are distracted the shaman rides in on the bear and starts his attack. As we get closer to a release date, hopefully we can see more of what the story is about.
