Joan Rivers’ Friends Paid Tribute To Her With 90 Minutes Special
Joan Rivers’ few closest friends as well as confidants came together for a noble cause. They paid tribute to the legend with Fashion Police special for 90 minutes on Friday, Sept. 19.
The special started with a message from Melissa Rivers, Joan’s daughter. She said that the previous four years this set was the official home for the most funny as well as most outrageous voice in the field of comedy. The chair on the set belonged to a lady who always spoke the truth about celebs and fashion trends in a hilarious way. It was always original. She further added, “Tonight we want to say goodbye the only way my mom would want us to, by remembering the incredible jokes, the unbelievable guests, and all the moments on set and behind-the-scenes that made Fashion Police must-see television around the globe.”
Joan’s co-stars namely Giuliana Rancic, George Kotsiopoulos and Kelly Osbourne, shared their feelings about beloved TV star. This part of the show showed old clips and jokes from the old episodes with celeb guests.
Rancic recalled about the star and as, “There were so many different types of jokes. Joan went everywhere. She went where no one else would dare to go.” In 2011 the star was diagnosed with breast cancer. That time had talked with Joan. She told her that “she has heard about her cancer and she is going to be all fine! Rancic further said, “ You’re having the surgery. You’re with a great doctor, at a great hospital.’ And you know what, she was right.”Osbourne added funny note to this conversation saying, “And didn’t she finish with, ‘you’re gonna get perfect new tits’?”
The co-host Osbourne became emotional while sharing her favorite moments with the star comedienne, who was at the place of second mother in her life. While talking about her first episode she said, “It just clicked, and I felt like for the first time in my life, I knew what I was doing. I knew where I was going, and I had the opportunity to not only work with one of my idols, but to work with one of the greatest legends this world has ever seen.”
