Patriots owner Robert Kraft trolls Colts during halftime address
While the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts have already played their highly anticipated matchup this season, the fireworks are far from over.
The Patriots used halftime on Thursday night to pay tribute to Willie McGinest, the former linebacker who was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame.
Colts general manager Ryan Grigson was the person who alerted NFL executives about New England’s alleged involvement in deflating footballs during January’s AFC Championship Game. During the ceremony, owner Robert Kraft got the crowd fired up by poking fun at the Colts.
McGinest made one of the most memorable plays in franchise history, tackling Colts running back Edgerrin James in the backfield on a fourth-and-1 from the Patriots’ 2 with 11 seconds to play in a 2003 game in Indianapolis, preserving a 38-34 win. The team is set to meet the Seattle Seahawks in Glendale on February 1 for the Super Bowl tournament, and if the team wins the match, it will be their first Super Bowl title.
Apparently the only thing more satisfying for Patriots owner Robert Kraft than beating the Colts is trolling them.
Even if the latter apparently doesn’t care very much for Irsay’s team these days or ever…
