Cowboys’ Bryant set to practice, boosting chance for return
The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver returned to practice on Wednesday afternoon and, according to multiple reports, is ready to suit up on Sunday when the team hosts the Seattle Seahawks in a must-win game.
Though Bryant said Friday he didn’t know if he would play for the first time since breaking his right foot in the September 13 opener, he knows he wants to be on the field at AT&T Stadium.
“I think just taking care of your body is really important…”
Sure, he still doesn’t have Tony Romo throwing him the ball, but the Cowboys offense is desperate to get its top playmaking option back. “There’s no question in my mind about that”. Seattle ranks 22nd in the National Football League in takeaways, which is low for them as they have only three interceptions on the season with five fumble recoveries.
“He’s getting to know me and I’m getting to know him, just like all these guys, ” Cassel said. There’s things that we can do to help that out, obviously it’s protection, based with the offensive line, but also timing on the throws, all the things that go into it. It’s definitely a focus of ours and that’s one focus area we feel like we can really work on and improve that. And that could be Bryant, who had never missed more than four straight games before the current five-game absence. “It’s a fun challenge when I’m asked to do it”, Sherman said.
The Cowboys have also listed Barry Church as questionable for the game.
“He probably just got overheated and hopefully he can work it out”, Bennett said. “But Hardy’s one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL”.
Even if Gates beats the odds and finds a way to play, he’s not likely for a big fantasy day.
Of course, Seattle thrives thanks to a rushing attack that averages 143.3 yards for the league’s second-highest mark.
Two preseason NFC playoff contenders are set to play, both with four losses before the halfway point of the season. We’re going to take him all the way to game time and figure that out. “He leads the way”, receiver Doug Baldwin said. “We’ve still got another practice to see how he responds. We’ll go as far as he takes us”. Wilson posted a 47.6 passer rating for his worst mark since his rookie season. Joseph Randle was the starter for six games, but injured his back early against New York. Randle did not practice Wednesday.
Seattle is 3-4 on the season, 2-4-1 against the spread and 4-3 with the under.
Since Romo was sidelined following his Week 2 collarbone injury, Dallas has been on a downhill slope losing its last four games to the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, and most recently the Giants.
“I have no idea what the plan exactly is going to be for playing time, if, when, what”, Linehan said.
