Tiger Woods ‘doing well’ after follow-up procedure on back injury
Tiger Woods is on bed rest after undergoing a second back procedure in less than two months.
“It’s one of those things that had to be done”, Tiger said on his website.
Woods underwent what his website described as “a successful follow-up procedure to his September back surgery” to “relieve discomfort”. He is now 321st in the Official World Golf Ranking. You shouldn’t be here.’ When I go to Texas or Florida, you always feel it. They say, ‘What are you doing here?
After his first back surgery in March 2014, the 14-time major champion was sidelined for four months.
The project is being overseen by Beacon Land Development, a Dallas-based company that is also in charge of Bluejack National outside Houston, site of Woods’ first USA design.
“I’m extremely disappointed not going to Bluejack, but I’m very excited about our grand opening in the spring”, Woods said.
“My family and the fans’ concern and support have helped a lot”.
He was expected to attend but not play in the Hero World Challenge Albany in the Bahamas from December 2-6, but after his latest procedure, whether or not he attends remains to be seen.
“I guess that’s his third back surgery in a year and a half”.
Woods, whose most recent of his 79 tour wins came at the 2013 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, last competed in August at the Wyndham Championship. He finished tied for 10th and seemed to have regained a few of his winning form after compiling an injury- and chipping yips-riddled record of six missed cuts and three withdrawals in 23 tour events since that last victory.
