Taylor Swift countersues former radio host
Swift’s lawyers write: “Ms. Swift knows exactly who committed the assault – it was Mueller…” Swift placed her hands around his shoulder during a last minute photo op. In the original lawsuit, he acknowledged an incident took place, but blamed it on one of his colleagues, who he said had boasted to him of grabbing Swift’s bottom while taking a picture. “Resolution of this Counterclaim will demonstrate that Mueller alone was the perpetrator of the humiliating and wrongful conduct targeted against Ms. Swift, and will serve as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts”. According to that statement, which was issued after Mueller’s lawsuit was filed against Swift, Mueller’s management has received evidence that their employee groped the pop singer, and the radio company therefore chose, according to its own investigation, to let him go.
Swift said that she has held thousands of similar meet-and-greet events for fans and radio station personnel throughout her career and “she has been inappropriately groped one time – by Mueller”.
According to the countersuit obtained by people.com, Mueller was previously terminated twice from on-air radio jobs at other stations and hadn’t worked as an on-air personality since May 2006. Swift points the finger exclusively at Mueller.
Though Mueller denied any inappropriate touching, he was dismissed from his $150,000 p.a. job at KYGO radio two days later. Haskell also happens to be a long-time business associate of Swift. “He lifted her skirt and groped her”, read the court papers acquired by ET.
But in the response filed Wednesday in a Denver court, Swift said that Mueller was clearly the culprit and accused him of reaching under her skirt and touching her in an “intimate” place. If she wins the case in the future, she will reportedly donate the money to charitable organisations that work for women rights and safety.
The singer rejected Mueller’s contention, in his suit, that another staff member of his radio station was the one who transgressed.
Mueller’s attorneys were not immediately available for comment.
