Pushbullet Updated with Android 6.0 Marshmallow Optimization, Direct Share Support
With Direct Share in Android 6.0, developers are able to specify targets in the share menu, so if you have Pushbullet enabled, rather than just seeing a list of apps to share items through, you should also start seeing shortcuts to specific items in Pushbullet that you might want to share with. The global variants with model numbers LG-H810, LG-H815, LG-H818 and others will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the next couple of weeks.
The update is rolling out to users via the Google Play Store.
There aren’t too many new features included in the latest version of Pushbullet for Android, but any update that bring improvements and addresses a few of the app’s issues is more than welcomed. That means you can fine-tune it so that – as an example – it can’t read your SMS messages, but can mirror notifications on your desktop, or vice-versa.
The application’s size has been reduced by 25%.
While there is no word which brand would be starting to roll out Android 6.0 M to its consumer base, one brand that could be getting it soon may be the LG flagship phones – LG G4 and LG G3. Add your devices so pushing data will be faster.
The Direct Share feature will let users easily and quickly share items with their registered recent devices. The permissions offer you a way to restrict what the app can access, and well if you don’t think that Pushbullet needs to access your SMS, then you can now restrict it if you’re running Marshmallow. So, if you share to your ChromeTV most often, it’ll appear first, then your laptop, then your tablet, etc.
