Ted Cruz Staying Away From Letter on Debate Demands
Several candidates have been criticizal of the moderators’ questions.
“Trump’s out”, Kelly said.
When asked if he would sign on the letter that outlines their debate demands on networks when hosting a Republican debate, Cruz said he is not planning on signing onto Ben Ginsberg’s letter, but proposed a new rule instead.
Earlier this week, The Washington Post published an open letter from Republican lawyer and pro bono debate negotiator Ben Ginsberg that listed a series of demands that television networks would have to comply with during future debates. “Do you have any idea whether Bret Baier or Chris Wallace have ever voted in a Republican primary?” responded Kelly, who successfully moderated a Republican debate back in August.
“Would we have to submit our voting records to you or a few coommitte?” she asked. In a primary, do not have liberals moderating.
Fox News host Megyn Kelly read through a specific list of debate demands that many Republican presidential candidates signed as a result of the CNBC debate debacle, and wondered what else they wanted – maybe a foot massage?
She cited two colleagues, Brett Baier and Chris Wallace.
Kelly told guests Howie Kurtz and Dana Perino that she “doesn’t know this reporter really well”, but looked into her coverage of Trump and found that Murray regularly noted the size of the crowds in attendance at his events, even opening one story with “Donald Trump knows how to rally a crowd”.
“The presidency is nearly never scripted, so we shouldn’t have those debates scripted either”, Christie said, which is absolutely true. “I don’t care who the moderators are…my job is to listen to the questions, answer the questions, and if I don’t like them call them out”.
