Belgium moves to No. 1 in Federation Internationale de Football Association rankings for first time
Despite Germany’s loss to Ireland, the World Champions remain in second place.
The Indian team, which had their lowest ranking of 173rd in March, is now ranked 33rd among Asian Football Confederation countries. Austria moved into the top 10, grabbing the final spot, while Wales dropped seven places to No. 15 overall.
Big movers also included Bosnia-Herzegovina, which moved up 10 places to enter the top 20, and Turkey, which climbed to 19 from 37.
However, the greatest progress comes from Copa America 2015 champions Chile as they stand at the fifth place.
The current rankings put the USMNT 14 places below their all-time average of 19th.
For the first time in its footballing history, Belgium is the No. 1-ranked team in the world.

A total of 172 global “A” matches have been taken into account in the November edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, bringing the total number of matches evaluated so far this year to 840.
