VIDEO Mean Tweets went country to celebrate CMAs
How could anyone dislike Carrie Underwood?
In a new edition of “Mean Tweets” on Wednesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, country music’s biggest stars read off social media messages from their biggest haters.
The segment kicked off with this bitter tweet for the CMA’s Entertainer of the Year, Luke Bryan.
Even Willie Nelson got in on the Mean Tweets act, reading out a tweet suggesting marijuana clearly works wonders since Nelson is still alive and won’t die.
Even the CMAs’ co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood weren’t immune, with Paisley remaining straight-faced as he read a particularly scatological tweet theorizing how his first album was created.
Another relatively subtle, but cruel remark was directed at American Idol victor, Scotty McCreery. For example, Underwood read out, “Didn’t really like da carrie underwood concert seem do tiresome had no excitement brong bck da soccer team”. Smiling as he read the tweet, the singer addressed his messenger – “Reggie, you need to move out, man!” When speaking with ET, Yoakam compared the country crooner to Ray Charles.
