Listen To The Rap Song Ben Carson Just Released [AUDIO]
According to campaign’s spokesman Doug Watts said, they’re aiming to “attract their consciousness about the election”.
Ben Carson, the current GOP front-runner, is trying to get African-American’s on board his campaign by releasing a new ad that is either hilarious or offensive.
The 60-second ad is what the Carson campaign sees as a way to speak to the younger demographic “in a language that they prefer and in a language that, and in a cultural format that they appreciate”.
This reporter’s humble opinion: This song is pretty terrible.
“I feel that gay people, they can do anything they want”, Carson added, before confirming to Ramos that he opposes marriage equality – a fact that he recently claimed does not make him homophobic.
Then the track cuts to clips from Carson’s speeches, optimistic about America – both past and future -before Aspiring Mogul jumps back on the track to finish it out.
It’s a ballsy statement about The State of Hip-Hop Today that Carson chose to run with a style of rap birthed in projects in Brooklyn and Queens for an ad campaign in the deep South. Ben Carson says: Down with Gucci Mane!
Ben Carson, a leading candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, drew quick criticism from LGBT advocates on Thursday for his proposal that transgender people use separate restrooms.
“We know it’s not of the Eminem quality or Jay-Z quality”, Watts conceded, referring to the chart-topping hip hop artists.
BC: I’m Ben Carson, and I approve this message. I think young black voters in Atlanta (who this ad is supposed to target) have been exposed to enough top-shelf rap to know these bars are hilariously bad.
“America became a great nation early on not because it was flooded with politicians”, Carson’s voice says in the ad. “But because it was flooded with people who understood the value of personal responsibility, hard work, creativity, and innovation”.
Carson’s campaign does think gaining black voters would make a huge difference in his bid for the presidency.
An ABC News story says Carson believes he can win the presidency if he can earn 20% of the black vote.
