A mad eight door pick up truck — Toyota Tundrasine
A few of the amalgamations are downright weird, but they can also be “Awesome” in the same breath.
Pickup trucks are super versatile vehicles. “But, while the levers and buttons appear to be the same OEM equipment you’d find in a production Sienna, they are actually carefully crafted replicas which control the functions of the Tacoma pickup on which the UUV is based”. It sounds as ridiculous as the ten door limo showcased in the Mask movie or the most sought after hot pink hummer limo available in the UK. And for the 2015 SEMA show, Toyota has stretched the fancy-truck concept-literally-in the form of the gargantuan, aptly named “Tundrasine”.
Commenting on the occasion, Steve Appelbaum, national engagement marketing manager, Toyota Motor Sales, US said, “SEMA members take their vehicles to extremes, and Toyota definitely goes to a new extreme with the Tundrasine”.
If the outside impresses, the customised interior has been inspired by the passenger compartments of luxury private jets. The vehicle has eight doors and runs more than 26 feet in length.
Presented in Midnight Black with acres of brown leather swathing the interior, the Tundrasine’s wheelbase is an incredible 2291mm longer than the 3701mm of the Tundra CrewMax on which it is based.
Toyota teased this “Ultimate Utility Vehicle” in June, and we’re finally seeing it at SEMA in the flesh.
The Toyota Tundrasine started life as a Tundra 1794 Edition 4×4 CrewMax pickup, equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 engine.
“People have seen plenty of limousines before, but never one quite like the Tundrasine”, said Appelbaum.
This particular eight-door Tundra was crafted right in the company’s San Antonio plant, which is a smart move.
The Tundrasine will be on display at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas through November 6.
