SPECTRE Debut Shatters UK Records, Grosses $80.4 Million Internationally

Spectre has secured the biggest seven day opening in United Kingdom box office history, taking an estimated £41.7m (€58.5).
It’s interesting to note that “Skyfall” is the first Bond movie to cross the $1 billion mark so that means everyone is expecting “Spectre” to do the same.

Filmmaker Sam Mendes’s 24th James Bond film Spectre is shattering box office records in almost every market it has been released, led by a historic performance in Britain. Producers denied reports that the script was changed at the request of executives from Sony Pictures and MGM Studios, eager to save money after the government offered $14 million in tax incentives in return for a better image.
Sony has had a long marketing partnership with the James Bond franchise, we’ve seen the super spy use Sony products in previous films but apparently the Japanese company met a few resistance this time around.

SPECTRE has also set new records in the Netherlands, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
Besides Craig, Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny) and Ben Whishaw (Q) revisit the franchise, while newcomers include Monica Bellucci, Léa Seydoux, Dave Bautista and double Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz, who plays villain Franz Oberhauser.
