Chelsea star John Terry refuses to accept criticism from Robbie Savage
Savage, who played for Crewe, Leicester, Birmingham, Blackburn, Derby and Wales, has suggested Terry was no longer the player he used to be.
Chelsea host Dynamo Kiev tomorrow night and will be hoping to leapfrog the Ukrainian champions with a win to reach second place.
“I have come under criticism from players I have looked up to and take it on the chin”.
“I’ve taken that [criticism] on the chin a hundred percent: Rio, Carra, Neville, the very best I’ve come up against in the game”.
Asked how he and the players would feel if Mourinho did leave, Terry said: “It’s not going to come to that”. “You know, Robbie Savage being one of them”. “As a footballer you take it from the very best, the Carras, the Nevilles, the Rios, you take it; other people, no”. I’ve seen people’s faces.
The Chelsea skipper has topped his penalty miss in Moscow by chewing out the wannabe blond bombshell that is Robbie “Strictly” Savage.
Savage was critical of the Terry earlier this week, and has been all season, amid the deepening crisis at the Premier League champions and their fairly anemic defence of their title.
“I think it’s a collection of things together”.
There’s just one more thing to do, arguably the most important part of our modern day ritual… hitting the mute button.
“We are prepared to fight”. The club have shown faith in the best manager with the best history at this club.
“John Terry could be better and I need to be back up to where I was last season”.
He also insists that the players should shoulder the responsibility for Chelsea’s demise, not the manager. “If you guys want honest, immediate answers after the game, give him a bit of freedom”.
