Honey Boo Boo and Family Back on TV
Last year, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was still a relatively popular TLC property when we learned Mama June was reportedly dating Mark McDaniel, a man who had gone to prison for 10 years and had reportedly molested Anna Chickadee Shannon CardwellAlana Thompsons sister and Mama Junes own daughter. Not because people won’t watch the show – the audience is likely still there, and maybe even willing to forget that June Shannon endangered her children by bringing McDaniel back into their lives – but because by shining the spotlight on this family once again, producers are complicit in sweeping very real childhood trauma under the rug. Shannon indicated that their new show will not be like “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo”, which spun off from her young daughter’s appearance on TLC’s “Toddlers and Tiaras”.
Better known as Mama June, the reality star has joined the cast of WEtv‘s upcoming season of “Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars”, along with her ex husband Mike Thompson, better known as Sugar Bear. Sundy Carter & Cedric from Basketball Wives: Los Angeles and Sarah Oliver and Jimmy “Inkman” Coney from Bad Girls Club. “I feel like he had cheated for quite a few time, and I needed a few answers”. It was either you go here or we end our 11 years.
She adds that they’re doing well despite what they’ve been through, but they still live separately. We spend weekends together.
In another article by PEOPLE, Shannon denied the allegations. Prior to the news breaking that Mama June and Sugar Bear are headed to Marriage Boot Camp, Honey Boo Boo herself took to social media to tease the big event, thanking fans for sticking with the family through the troubled time.
Huffington Post reports that is unknown “which network is responsible” for their comeback.
Mama June and Sugar Bear opened up about their relationship issues throughout all of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo”.
