Man fatally stabs friend to death for taking last piece of chicken

Rivera returned and was taken into custody and charged with murder after admitting to police that he stabbed the man.

The assailant, 38-year old Reinaldo Cardoso Rivera has been charged with murder for killing his 34-year old friend Darwin Perez Gonzalez.

Infused after a bevy of alcoholic concoctions, the incensed Rivera of Cuban descent proceeded to argue with the roommate after Gonzalez ‘hogged’ the last piece of drumstick. “You can’t script this stuff”.

The suspect didn’t react well when his roomate ate the last piece of chicken and made his feelings known with tragic results.

At a little before 11:30 pm, a bloodied Rivera allegedly produced a kitchen knife, stabbed Gonzalez and ran away. Gonzalez died at the scene. He is being held in Harris County jail on $200,000 bond, according to online jail records.

A neighbor in the apartment complex, Elton Mathews, told Click2Houston that the whole thing was senseless.

The Twitter universe was quick to share similar stories of crimes committed over food, after news of the stabbing broke.
