Morgantown police say the kidnapping of an Arlington, Virginia, man was a prank by a West Virginia University fraternity.
The department said Romanoski was armed with a shotgun and was later found to also have been carrying a handgun.
A release did not say if the shooting victim was the suspect.
“Emergency medical personnel were staged in the immediate area because of the serious nature of the crimes involved and were able to immediately start emergency medical treatment”, Preston said. The person was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
