Zuckerberg: Newark schools investment has helped improve graduation rates 13%
In a post on the social network, he shared that graduation rates in the city have increased 13 percent to now stand at 69 percent.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is doubling down on education investments, like the one he made in Newark, and in doing so is cementing his place in the controversial and crowded education philanthropy world. In the pic, Zuckerberg sweetly stood behind Chan, 30, and cradled her growing baby bump. Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz shot the photo at the Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit in October. In July, Mark announced Priscilla’s pregnancy to his 40.5 million followers, noting that they had been trying to have a child for “a couple of years” and his wife had “three miscarriages along the way”.
“No effort like this is ever going to be without challenges, mistakes and honest differences among people with good intentions”, Zuckerberg wrote Friday in a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, Priscilla continues with her philanthropic work even when she’s heavy with child.
– They want to give money to existing public school projects, such as the Education Super Highway, which aims to provide Internet access in every classroom. “I’m so proud of Priscilla for starting The Primary School- a new kind of school that brings education and healthcare together”, the message partly read.
Zuckerberg’s Facebook posts also hint at continued spending on supplying broadband access to low-income schools.
