Intolerance remark – SRK’s security ‘beef’ed up!!!
They are going to ruin the nation. Shah Rukh made these comments during a Twitter townhall with a leading journalist on November 01.
While the editorial rebuked Mr. Khan for dipping frequently into the “whirlpool of controversies”, the Sena also strongly condemned the verbal attack on him. “There is no difference in what Shah Rukh Khan and Hafiz Saeed say”, Aditynath said, hours after Vijayvargiya retracted his controversial tweets following criticism by his party leaders saying that he did not intend to hurt anyone. His films make crores here but he thinks India to be intolerant. “If this is not anti-nationalist, then what is it”, Mr. Vijayvargiya had tweeted. Shahrukh’s comments were only in tune with Pakistan and other anti-India voices, he added. The attack against Shah Rukh by BJP leaders came notwithstanding the refrain of BJP’s top brass in the recent weeks that partymen avoid sensitive comments. “Hafiz Saeed and Shah Rukh Khan speak the same language”, Adityanath added. “Sickening remarks against @iamsrk by BJP national gen sec also in charge of Bengal”. BJP lawmaker Yogi Adityanath said: “These people are speaking the language of militants”. Under fire for his remark against Shah Rukh, Mr Vijayvargiya withdrew his controversial tweets Wednesday but reiterated that had there been intolerance in India, the actor wouldn’t have been the most popular actor after Amitabh Bachchan. The BJP distanced itself from Adityanath’s comments.
“Shah Rukh’s point of view is his personal and we should respect it, that’s the beauty of our democracy”, he said. His remarks came a day after the 50-year-old superstar said there is “extreme intolerance” in the country.
“By talking about returning the awards (including Padma Shri) he has committed treason”. He should be punished for this. “On the other hand, none of your loved ones members have fought for the freedom of this nation and also you call yourself patriot?”
Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra said, “He (Shahrukh) is a big actor”.
