Cube26 launches smart bulb priced at ₹1499

Called IOTA Lite, the shrewd knob is fueled by Texas Instruments microchip and uses Toshiba LED. It communicates through Bluetooth 4.0 and can be installed into an existing fixture without any extra hardware. The IOTA Lite, on the other hand, will be available at an introductory price of Rs 1,499 till Diwali, exclusively on Flipkart. An intuitive and seamless system, IOTA Lite’s firmware is upgradeable and future-proof, with the potential for more features to be downloaded and accessed in the future. The 7W bulb possesses 500 lumens of brightness and can project 16 million different colors.

Four-year-old Cube 26, an India based technology innovation firm focused on revolutionizing the user experience across multiple device and platforms have toiled nights to make this dream of every consumer come true and have today launched the IOTA Lite bulb, a smart bulb which is the company’s first smart device in the IoT category. “Smart lighting, as part of this, is expected to be about $10 billion (roughly Rs. 65,770 crores), which in itself is a huge opportunity”, Flipkart Head of Consumer Electronics Adarsh Menon said.

Key features include weather alert, call or SMS alert, music sync and present modes.

The IOTA Lite comes with many features, the chief among them being the Call/SMS alert. This feature is beneficial when the user is around a high noise area or when the smartphone is on silent mode. Users can also customise the app and add select contacts to be alerted via the Lite.

Music Sync – The Lite changes its color and syncs with the rhythm of the music providing an elevated experience. It syncs with the music playing in the user’s smartphone and provides a live, lovely light and sound show. Under present modes, one can use it as mood lighting and can choose from different modes such as reading, relaxation, party, etc.

The Iota Lite works with an app to hook up a maximum of 7 smart bulbs. Cube26 claims it to be an energy efficient bulb with a life span of 15000 hours.
