Blatter monitored by doctors for stress-related reasons
The resigning Federation Internationale de Football Association president Sepp Blatter was placed under medical surveillance at his home, said Friday his spokesman, adding that the 79-year-old Blatter should back on his feet within a week.
In October, Joseph Blatter and Michel Platini were suspended for 90 days by the ethics committee of Federation Internationale de Football Association.
Blatter’s spokesman Klaus Stoehlker chose to attribute his boss’s condition to stress, not the dark arts. The treatment will continue for another 10 days. “The physician must look at him now [but] soon he’ll be good again”, Stohlker said.
Stoehlker told The Associated Press that Blatter is “under a huge pressure” and had been told to rest until next Thursday or Friday.
Blatter is in the midst of a 90-day suspension following FIFA’s corruption charges.
“He is under tremendous pressure and perhaps this is a little bit hard for a man who is not the youngest”. “It’s good for him to relax a few days under medical control”. “I saw him this morning and he will recover”.
“I became the primary target of the attack because for three years, and specifically after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Uefa did not want me as the president”, he told Russian news agency TASS. Blatter has said he still hopes to take part in the congress in February.
