Two Israelis shot, wounded at Hebron holy site
A 72 year old Palestinian woman was fatally shot by Israeli soldiers north of the West Bank city of Hebron.
The military said the auto slowed down and then sped toward the soldiers, who were able to get out of the way before firing at the vehicle. Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Kidra says the 18-year-old fisherman was shot in the abdomen and died after being brought to a hospital. Footage on Israeli TV showed bullet holes in the car’s front and back windshields.
Now, in addition to that, a number of those Palestinians who carried out attacks or arms struggle against Israeli soldiers and Israeli settlers, their bodies, have been detained by Israeli occupation forces until now in spite of the fact that a few bodies have been turned out to their families, but as it was stated by Palestinian Ambassador to the United Nations today Mr. Riyad Mansour that a few of the bodies of Palestinian martyrs are missing parts of their body organs.
Ramallah: Violence erupted Friday in the Palestinian territories after a lull in weeks of unrest, with two Israelis shot during a pilgrimage to a flashpoint holy site and clashes in the West Bank and Gaza. “Two Israelis were shot at the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron”, an army statement said.
A terrorist stabbed the civilian and fled the scene.
“The forces called the perpetrators to halt, followed by warning shots in the air, and upon the suspects’ continued assault, forces fired toward a main instigator, confirming a hit”, a spokeswoman told AFP.
The injured were taken to a government hospital in Hebron for treatment.
Israel has accused Palestinian political and religious leaders of fomenting the violence. Israel has struggled to respond to the random attacks, with the army responding by using tough security measures.
A Palestinian man claimed responsibility for a stabbing attack on Friday in the West Bank, identifying himself in a video uploaded to Facebook hours after the attack took place. At least nine Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks, a lot of them stabbings. Ten Israelis have also been killed by Palestinians.
The new round of violence came ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s trip to Washington, where he will meet US President Barack Obama on Monday. They say the Tel Aviv regime seeks to change the status quo of the compound.
