Kobe Bryant Gets His Season Slandered With National Basketball Association Jam Parody Video
Los Angeles Lakers forward Nick Young (0) reacts after making a basket in the fourth quarter of their game against the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena.
Of the players in their first few seasons, rookie guard D’Angelo Russell is Bryant’s top focus, and one that should see more playing time as the season continues.
The Lakers and the Nets were quite a long way from their meeting in the 2002 National Basketball Association Finals when they squared off on Friday night, coming in as two of only four National Basketball Association teams not to have won a game so far this season. Just try to appreciate it, but it still goes by in a flash.
A year ago the 17-time all-star played in just 35 games before a torn rotator cuff required surgery and with it came the end of his season.
Thus, Kobe, I think I speak for all Lakers fans when I say: we don’t want you to “pass the ball” just so it appeases the fans – we want YOU … the leader, face, and now “mentor” of the franchise … “He’s a master at it”.
Next, the Lakers play the New York Knicks on Sunday. I always try to make it a point to do that.
The reason why I illustrated these to you is because they are collateral damage of Bryant’s current mentality on the court – which is nothing short of selfish.
The Lakers’ 11-point lead was down to three in the final half-minute but they forced a 5-second violation on an inbounds pass. Bryant then made four straight free throws for a 102-95 lead while receiving booming cheers, as he did all night.
This team has been tested just once so far, in Wednesday’s 112-108 win against the Clippers – and certainly looks like a group poised for another special season even if this one’s not even two weeks old.
Bryant started the game missing his first six shots and looking haggard, slow and every bit of his 37 years. And, Bryant said, he’s all right with that. I always try to embrace the moment and feel the energy of the moment. “It felt really good”. I was a much better player than people were giving me credit for.
