Olynyk finds his groove in win over Wizards

Jared Sullinger scored 21 points, Isaiah Thomas had 16 points and eight assists and the Boston Celtics ended a three-game losing streak by beating the Washington Wizards 118-98 on Friday night. He made his first five shots, bullied former teammate Kris Humphries for an offensive rebound, took a transition charge straight in the chest, and threw two ideal outlet passes that led to fast-break opportunities at the other end.

Wizards: Marcin Gortat had 10 points and eight rebounds…. They scored frequently, aggressively, and even, at times, spectacularly. Isaiah Thomas will likely start in Smart’s place Friday, as was the case Wednesday.

The worst thing that we can see as a team is Beal getting a layup early because then he sees the ball go through the net and when the ball goes through the net with that kind of player it makes you feel better about yourself and that’s not good. The Celtics managed to out rebound the Wizards 53-45. There was just no way Boston, led by an out-of-body performance from their two big men, Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk torch this team the way they had leading up to this point. Turner had 14 points in 12 minutes, to go along with 15 in 15 from Sullinger and 14 in 16 from Thomas. IT finished the frame with 12, though no two were prettier than this. “Hopefully it doesn’t stop me from playing”, against Indiana. “There will be more of that as we move forward”. Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart is inactive tonight against the Washington Wizards after spraining the big toe on his left foot. But Rozier knocked down a couple of shots, used his athleticism on defense, and had one great pass to Jonas Jerbeko in the opposite corner.
