Seahawks’ Lockette out of Dallas hospital
Lockette was injured last Sunday in Seattle’s 13-12 win over Dallas during a punt return when he was hit by Heath and knocked out.
Lockette has been a special teams standout for the Seahawks since joining the team in 2011.
Four days after sustaining a scary injury and three days removed from surgery to stabilize ligament and disc damage to his neck, Seahawks wideout Ricardo Lockette has been released from the hospital.
The game was stopped for several minutes before Lockette was taken from the stadium and transported to hospital. He would never wish ill on anyone. Lockette, who was carted off the field, underwent successful surgery this week at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas to fix ligaments in his neck. “That’s just somebody making something up”.
But Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett, who called Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett classless for failing to walk onto the field to check on Lockette, has been fined $20,000 by the National Football League for his hit on quarterback Matt Cassel late in the game.
Heath texted Lockette his best wishes, and said Lockette text back that there were no hard feelings. “Come on, man. Not once did I (say), ‘Hey, that’s what you get.’ I got down on one knee and prayed for the man. Don’t put clips together and do that”.
Heath received a 15-yard personal foul penalty for his hit, but has not yet been fined by the NFL.
On a Vine video circulating around the worldwide web, wide receiver Dez Bryant looked to be yelling, “That’s what you get” while pointing at the Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin after running back Ricardo Lockette’s season-ending injury in his.
Heath was penalized for a blind-side hit, though replays showed that the contact was with the players facing each other and to the upper body.
“I just felt disgusting when I found out how hurt he was”, said Heath.
