Bugatti Chiron Prototype Spotted On Open Road In Italy?
These differ from the ones used on the one-off show auto, as seen on another prototype used for crash-testing. The Vision Gran Turismo, the concept that the Chiron will be based on what shown off at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year and we were impressed with what they had to offer. The company points out that a quarter of its sold-out Veyron series cars were purchased by customers in North America. Though the concept displayed race-spec embellishments in the form of a rear wing and front and side skirts, the spied mule loses most of these parts. Dual quadrangular exhausts are situated towards the centre line, around which is a two-step diffuser as well. It is powered by a 16.4 W16 engine with four turbochargers. With many new hypercars like the LaFerrari and P1 using Hybrid power, odds are the Chiron will use that too. Power output is around 1,200 bhp while the torque figure stands at around 1,500 Nm. The turbochargers are expected to be electric driven and boost pressure will be increased.
This staggering power will reportedly help rocket the Bugatti Chiron to 60 miles per hour in a tick over two seconds, and on its way to an estimated top speed of 280 miles per hour. Are you looking at the world’s first 280mph-plus production vehicle?
