Mourinho not to appeal against stadium ban
Only an appeal would have allowed Mourinho to enter the Britannia Stadium, but he has accepted the sanction.
Should the Portuguese again break rule E3 of the FA’s code of conduct he will trigger his suspension, and he has repeatedly refused to elaborate on refereeing decisions following his punishment.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has had an appeal over his one-match stadium ban and £50,000 fine turned down by the Football Association, according to reports from the London Evening Standard.
The FA have revealed the full details of Jose Mourinho’s recent rant against referees during Chelsea’s Premier League defeat to West Ham United.
The referee reported Mourinho then shouted: “You [expletive] referees are weak…”
Asked if he would appeal, Mourinho said: “No. Because the match is tomorrow and I know the result of that appeal already”. I don’t know (where I watch the game).
Mourinho was asked whether he would consider sneaking into the stadium in a laundry basket as he had allegedly done for a Champions League clash ten years ago.
Mourinho is expected to watch the match from Chelsea’s hotel with his staff taking over his regular match day duties.
Chelsea have already conceded 22 goals in 11 Premier League games this season.
He will serve that ban this weekend and will be unable to attend his side’s Saturday Night Football game against Stoke at the Britannia Stadium. He said: “It is the same”.
Stoke are one place higher than Chelsea in the table. It is going to be tough, because it is always hard at Stoke but last season we won 2-0 and we can do the same now.
“I haven’t prepared for us with seven men… but we have gone through scenarios”.
“It’s going to be unusual, of course”.
Mourinho also believes the decision opens up more potential stadium bans for other managers. “The game isn’t predictable, you don’t know the direction but we can try to reduce that and that we did”, he added. When you are top, you want to see people down. Sometimes you hear him, and especially if you play on his side of the pitch. You can imagine that it’s not easy. Our supporters are used to winning trophies.
