Terminally ill ‘Star Wars’ fan sees ‘The Force Awakens’ early
A man dying of a rare form of cancer got to see the new Star Wars movie early after his wish to see it before he dies was granted.
Fans were pleasantly surprised when new Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoilers were revealed in the new global trailer released Friday, which includes a ton of new footage and plot details.
We are happy to say that Daniel has officially seen the film.
A social media campaign, using the hashtag “ForceForDaniel”, was launched in a bid to help him realise his final dream. We also see Rey ask BB-8 where he came from, and she tells BB-8 she knows what it’s like to wait for family.
Daniel Fleetwood was diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma in July and feared he wouldn’t live long enough to see the latest iteration of his favorite movie franchise: Star Wars. A social media campaign, #forcefordaniel, went viral in a matter of days.
Ashley announced via Facebook, as reported by her friend Chris Alexakos on Twitter, her husband got to watch the unedited version of the film, thanks to a call from director J.J. Abrams. There were three trailers for The Force Awakens, released over the past year or so, creating a steady hype train for those of you itching to peel apart J.J. Abrams’ newest and probably most awaited darling. Lastly I want to thank ALL the fantastic people who helped make this happen!!!
“Daniels final dream was just granted!!!” “I just thought that’s the way it was going from when we finished [Empire Strikes Back]”. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) are still missing in the trailers and promo material of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
