Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley Poke Fun at Blake Shelton and Miranda
Country Music artist Blake Shelton has responded to Brad Paisley’s joke about his divorce with Miranda Lambert during the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards.
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert attend the 49th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards in 2014.
“We just want to let you know that we love you both and want you to be happy”, Underwood told the recently split puppets.
Cutting to the audience, the camera turned to Kermit and Miss Piggy – they also announced their split earlier this year – who were sitting apart from each other.
“On a completely unrelated topic”, Paisley added.
I’ll be breaking down the winners, the performers, the jokes, the songs, the dresses, the everything about the show, but especially, the Oklahomans who will be representing on the Nashville stage.
Hours before Blake’s appearance at the ceremony, a representative for his The Voice co-star Gwen Stefani confirmed reports suggesting the two had struck up a romantic relationship.
When the CMAs were coming up, Blake Shelton had predicted that his ex-wife Miranda Lambert and he would have to deal with a few jokes regarding their divorce and it looks like he was right.
Carrie’s colleague Miranda Lambert also stunned on the red carpet, infusing her ensemble with a little bit of a rebel vibe. The group wanted to salute the group who made the Hall of Fame this year and did so with a surprisingly charming number that had the audience bopping their heads in tune. “Carrie, have you heard that duet that Blake did with Ashley Madison?”.
Timberlake sang alongside popular songwriter and singer Stapleton at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday night.
But Shelton, after five straight wins, saw newcomer Chris Stapleton snatch away the male vocalist of the year award. The Muppet star took to the 2011 CMA Awards in a vulgar attempt to steal Underwood’s co-hosting spot by locking the American Idol victor in her dressing room.
This is her sixth consecutive year winning this award. Listened to country music, R&B music, classic rock, you know, everything…I still got my eyes set on a Best Country Album.
“Seventeen years ago this very month we became a band”, an emotional Kimberly Schlapman said onstage, standing next to band members Karen Fairchild, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet. She was not having it.
Florida Georgia Line won vocal duo of the year. They lost music video of the year to Maddie & Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song” and musical event of the year to Church and Urban.
