India prime minister promises $12 billion in aid for Kashmir
The crackdown on the youth, which Tarigami said is intense, has generated fear across the state particularly as Kashmiris never know if and when their young people will return home.
The Prime Minister, after addressing the rally, is scheduled to inaugurate 450 megawatt Baglihar Phase II power project in Ramban district on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Modi said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have shown their faith in democracy (Jamhooriya).
The package will cover relief for the 2014 flood victims, farmers, businessmen, youth employment, tourism, infrastructure, education and healthcare. He also promised them a 34,000 cr worth Jammu- Srinagar Highway that would make the interstate transit fastest ever.
“We have to follow the path shown by Atalji”. From this stage, Atalji had raised the slogan of Kashmiriyat, Jamhooriyat and Insaaniyat.
Modi is making his first trip this year to Kashmir where violence continues, although not to the level of the 1990s when armed revolt against Indian rule erupted. (Without Kashmiriyat, India is incomplete). “Since 1981, why this injustice to the people of Jammu and Kashmir?”. No matter how much the world advances, without humanity, we are nowhere.
“He is progressing, I feel very proud of him”, Modi said.
The government move comes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones of these two projects in Haryana on Thursday. Now, we need growth and development here.
“That is why I have come to attend the rally”, Abdul Hameed, who claimed to be working as SPO in north Kashmir, said.
Europe based Kashmiris, Pakistanis and representatives of minorities in India to hold a demonstration on 13th of November at Place Luxembourg in Brussels in order to protest against upcoming Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Europe.
On economic development, Modi said: “Seventeen months back nobody could have imagined comparing Indian economic growth with that of China”.
A youth died in firing on Srinagar’s outskirts this evening after a few people tried to take out a march, police said.

Modi said unemployment was the biggest challenge facing the state and a solution to this problem will resolve every other problem in the state.

People released black balloons to express their resentment against Modi’s visit, Kashmir Media Service (KMS) reported.
Mr. Modi said his Government worked for “Sabka saath, sabka vikas“, and therefore, it was essential for development to reach all parts of the country.
