Sia Makes A Powerful Return To ‘SNL’ With Two Emotional Performances
Speaking of acting, Sia’s set included a choir and an adult performer who took the place of 9-year-old Mahiro Takano, the star of the “Alive” video. Nothing short of impressive, she showcased two singles from her upcoming LP, This Is Acting.
She hit the stage to perform “Alive” and “Bird Set Free”, both tracks from the Australian singer-songwriter’s forthcoming seventh studio album “This Is Acting”, which RCA has scheduled for release on January 29th, 2016.
The Australian songstress took to the stage with her face covered by one of her signature blunt wigs topped off with a giant blue bow. Did she manage to get that debate? Meanwhile, the dancer vividly interpreted Sia’s tale of striving towards freedom by wriggling her way out of a cocoon of black fabric. For that performance, Sia traded in her blue color palette for black as she moved the audience with her powerful pipes and hid her eyes underneath the bangs of her wig.
Sensibly, Sia stayed away from the godawful skits on the night, sticking instead to what she does best, a mantra others present might now consider adopting.
Did it top a few of what we’ve seen from Sia on the show in the past?
