Apple Watch starts selling in India in Rs31,000-Rs9 lakh range
The Apple Watch is continuing its global rollout by going on sale in India – shortly before the country’s Diwali festival, and just one month after the Indian debut of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Opting for the bigger 42mm casing takes the price up to Rs 9.9 lakh while the highest-end version of this watch costs Rs 14.2 lakh. The Stainless steel case with white sports band, costs Rs 48,900 for 38mm and Rs 52,900 for 42 mm. Industry observers say Apple delayed the Apple Watch launch in India and that the product may be overpriced for a budget-sensitive market, according to the Times of India.
The third model is called the Watch Edition and is the most expensive of the lot, primarily because they are made of 18-karat gold cases and sapphire crystal.
To add a more personal touch, Apple is selling multiple standalone bands in both sizes that can be purchased separately.
The advanced product within the 38-mm portion, Apple Watch Release with 18-carat rose-gold case with white hobby group continues to be priced at Rs. 8.2 lakh per-piece.
Moreover, when it comes to the more glossy instalments, such as the Classic Buckle version, the price hits Rs 60,900, and a INR 95,900 (about $1,457) premium for the stainless steel Link Bracelet version.
The Apple Watch is already available outside the USA in such countries as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, China and Japan.
The Apple Watch has been introduced by Apple in India, with rates.
The much awaited Apple watch range comes in three collections of Edition, Sports and regular and each is available in about 40 combinations in “two cases of 38mm and 42 mm”.
For instance, the colourful Sport Bands (available in as many as 13 shades) are priced at a steep Rs 3,900 each if someone wants to buy more. The device is probably the best smartwatch available on the market right now, and it has helped Apple keep its earnings on the upside after analysts believed it would track lower. The Watch features the Activity app for health and fitness freaks. Apple has also recently launched a red colored sport band. The Apple Watch comes with the Activity app that gives simple visual snapshot of your daily activity with three rings that measure active calories burned, brisk activity and how often you stand or take a break.
The Apple watch necessarily needs an iPhone 5 or newer running at least iOS 8.2 with which it pairs via Bluetooth.
