Body of NJ woman found near train tracks in Massachusetts
The burned body of a bound woman dumped along a Bridgewater, Mass., railroad track last week has been identified as a 29-year-old New Jersey native.
Her family is trying to raise money to have her body brought back to New Jersey for a funeral and burial. Massachusetts state police and Bridgewater police continue to investigate her death.
It’s not known how Bortner died, but authorities believe she was killed at another location before her body was left 25 miles south of Boston.
Bortner’s body was found on Tuesday near the tracks after neighbors reported auto behaving suspiciously near the tracks.
After extinguishing the fire, they determined the woman was deceased, according to the DA’s office.
“It’s just heartbreaking to the whole family. She was always outgoing and she was just a wonderful person”, Kulb said, according to NBC10. Bortner appears to have been targeted by her killer. She had a smile that would just knock you off your feet, ‘ Tamara Pack told the Boston Herald.
The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
