A new 4-inch iPhone is in the cards for 2016
Ming-Chi Kuo works as an analyst in one of Taiwan’s oldest and largest financial firm, the KGI Securities. He predicts that these models, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will house an A10 chip each. Due to this, the new smartphone of Apple may be launched together with the next-generation iPhone, which normally happens in September. It will be designed much like an upgraded iPhone 5s but will not carry premium features.
With rumors making waves from all across the globe, the iPhone 7 phenomenon has reached to its peaks.
The early iPhone 7 release date rumor that’s doing the rounds may have more to do with a confused supply chain source mixing up those two moves. We typically do not hear about specific release date timing until closer to an actual release, but this timing makes sense.
The upcoming models are expected to maintain the 4.7-inch as well as the 5.5-inch display sizes. This could be a clue regarding the pricing of the iPhone 6c / iPhone 7c, with Apple perhaps likely to position the device as a mid-range unit rather than the budget smartphone it could be characterised as. This is not a bold prediction, but Kuo suggests there will be a big difference between the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The former may have 2GB RAM, while the latter would receive 3GB of memory.
The first thing to take into consideration with regard to the iPhone 6c / iPhone 7c conundrum is precisely when Apple will release the device. Small or big it is still the same iPhone it was three versions ago and it seems only rivals are experimenting with new ideas. The iPhone 6 has been stealing back market share from Android since its debut past year.
We could see a new 4-inch iPhone release in early 2016. Apple could use the uni-body design of the iPhone 6 for the upgraded 4-inch device. It will include the A9 processor (that’s what’s in the iPhone 6S) but no 3D Touch, according to Business Insider. The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus also featured similarly-sized screens. The smaller iPhone will have similar features of the iPhone 5S, which also features a 4-inch display screen.
In order to give the phone even more appeal Apple is rumored to be teaming up with numerous companies, including its top rival Samsung. Because of the change in dimensions, Apple will also reportedly change a few features of the device, such as the next iPhone having a flatter D-shaped headphone plug rather than the more conventional round jack.
Another rumor surrounding the iPhone 7 said that it will do away with the trademark Apple home button.
