Karim Benzema: Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez offers ‘total support’
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has admitted involvement in an alleged extortion case over a sex tape featuring fellow French worldwide Mathieu Valbuena and appeared before judge Thursday, legal sources said.
France coach Didier Deschamps on Thursday said he left Benzema out of the squad due to injury.
Mathieu Valbuena has also been left out of the French squad.
Real, who top La Liga on goal difference, are away at Sevilla Sunday.
“It’s a tough ground to go to, the home supporters really get behind their team”.
“My main concern at the moment is the match against Sevilla and so I am not thinking too much about El Clasico”, said Benitez.
“It’s always a tricky stadium to go to and they’re always a tough team to play against”.
Los Blancos also go into Sunday’s match having assured themselves of a place in the last 16 of the Champions League with two games to spare.

“He’s a great player, who brings a lot to the French team”.
“He is okay. There has been a statement from the club to which we all adhere, and there is little more to say on a personal level”.
Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema is set to finally make a move to England, according to reports in the Metro.
“I hope he gets fit quickly and can get back to enjoying playing on the pitch. As for the rest, we must wait and see – that is the most sensible thing [to do]”.
Benzema, who has denied any wrongdoing, was not selected by Real Madrid for their 3-2 defeat against Sevilla at the weekend.
