US Navy missile test draws attention with streak of light
A bright phenomenon that lit up the sky over California on Saturday night had residents fearing the worst – including a few freaked out celebrities (we’re looking at you, Khloe Kardashian). Reports of the event was witnessed as far north as San Francisco and as far east as Las Vegas and Phoenix.
As speculation mounted, the Orange County sheriff’s office took to their official Twitter account to confirm the light had come from a missile launched as part of a naval test fire. We hope the person who tells Khloé Kardashian the truth lets her down gently.
However, while the officials said it was “unarmed” Natural News added that they failed to say it still has a “thermonuclear warhead”.
Navy Spokesman Commander Ryan Perry said in a statement that the Navy Strategic Systems Programs had a missile test off the coast from USS Kentucky. The mystery light was a planned Navy Strategic Systems Programs test of an unarmed Trident II (D5) missile.
According to AccuWeather, cosmic fireballs were expected to occasionally light up the sky as the meteor shower peaked into next week. While it’s not clear if this has anything to do with the missile test, it seems like people should prepare themselves for seeing another freakish UFO.
“The tests were part of a scheduled, ongoing system evaluation test”, the statement said.
He said the area, known as the Pacific Test Range, was frequently used to ensure the continuing reliability of weapons systems.
“Have seen many Vandenberg launches in my day, but from our vantage point in Anza-Borrego, it looked like nothing we had ever seen”.
Secret military operations over the Pacific Ocean are reportedly responsible for incoming flight pattern changes around Los Angeles worldwide Airport over the next week, KABC-TV reported.
The airport is said to create “traffic route limitations” and to “temporarily deviate” from such military tests at sea.
The missile test will continue till November 12.
