Donald Trump says Ben Carson has a ‘weird deal going on’
Ben Carson said Saturday he’s hauled in $3.5 million in campaign cash this week thanks to a “biased media”.
“I have always said that I expect to be vetted, but being vetted and what is going on with me – “You said this 30 years ago, you said this 20 years ago, this didn’t exist” – you know, I have not seen that with anyone else”, he said. There’s got to be a few nurse he’s had an affair with. Can Carson get out of this? And I said, that’s wonderful.
Carson’s personal narrative – a centerpiece of his campaign and star power – has long revolved around his accounts of his violent past and descriptions of the healing powers of his faith.
These reports come on top of a CNN story calling into question Carson’s account of an attempt as a youth to stab someone.
“We tell the truth”. “This is a bunch of lies attempting to say I’m lying about my history”.
“I just don’t know what to think”, Mr. Trump said on “Face the Nation”. “(In) South Carolina, I will break through only if I do well outside of South Carolina. The same goes for the flaps over what Carson has said about the Pyramids, Nazi Germany and other off-topic subjects.
Trump ended with a note of sympathy for Carson that seemed to fall short of honest. However, the WSJ interviewed a half-dozen of the retired neurosurgeon’s classmates and high school physics teacher but could not confirm the story, the report details.
Among Republicans only, Carson was the favorite of 33 percent while 29 percent replied “don’t know” and 22 percent named Trump. The phrase typically refers to a college providing financial aid to allow a candidate to attend a college free of charge, but that doesn’t really apply to West Point’s across-the-board zero-tuition policy, said Antonio Buehler, a West Point alumnus who founded the admissions coaching service Abrome.
He said he hopes Carson “comes out great” from the scrutiny. “And a number of other people aren’t either, that I’ve talked to”.
Trump and Carson are essentially tied, as the poll’s margin of error is plus or minus 4.9 percentage points. A couple days being asked about something you put in your books – I have to tell you – I don’t have a lot of sympathy. Writing a column that originally appeared on the New Reform Club, Tillman tells the story of how he was unofficially offered a place at West Point. I have tremendous admiration, obviously, for West Point, which is why I included that story, and tremendous admiration for the people who serve in our country. “It’s not time to spend every single day talking about something that happened 50 years ago”. You agree to play by them, you don’t have to like them.
“It’s clear that what the Politico writer, with what he was trying to gain with the headline, did not substantiate it with his article”, Williams told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.
Politico also reported that West Point would have a record of whether he applied in 1969.
Referring to the attempted stabbing, which Carson has said was blocked by his friend’s belt buckle, Trump seemed incredulous.
The presidentiall candidate’s GOP rival, Donald Trump, also agreed that Carson should explain several things more fully that he has said regarding West Point and his childhood. They were very impressed with my incredible rise to city executive officer faster than anyone had ever done that before, and said that, we would be able to get you a full scholarship to West Point.
