Two passengers guide city bus to safety after driver has seizure
Two passengers stepped in when a bus driver suffered a seizure while driving her bus, Woodstock Police say.
Woodstock police say a 60-year-old female bus driver was operating a Woodstock Transit bus travelling northbound on Huron Street toward Devonshire Avenue on Saturday at about 1:40 p.m.
A 74 year old passenger and a 24 year old passenger noticed when the driver fell into unconsciousness. The two passengers sprang into action, lowering the driver onto the floor of the bus.
One passenger brought the bus to a stop, while the other watched over the woman having the seizure.
Woodstock Police and paramedics were on scene moments later, forcing their way onto the bus through the locked doors. The driver was unconscious but breathing. Officers say she was treated and transported to hospital by paramedics and was expected to make a full recovery.
