Pebble Time Round pre-orders are set to ship on November 8

The Round Time occupies the pricier side of the Pebble spectrum too, at $249.

Several configurations are available for the Pebble Time Round. Honestly Pebble is the product that opened the public’s eyes to smartwatches. Apple recently launched Apple Watch and received fantastic response from media. However, the company has not yet announced the sales data for its watch. The Pebble Time Round does have a quick-charging feature that’ll get you a day of battery life in 15 minutes. That’s still double what you’ll get with many smart watches, and it charges quickly (I got it to about 90 percent in less than half an hour), but it’s annoying to regularly charge yet another gadget. It can offer many interesting features like appointments, sports data, stock market updates and weather. Otherwise, I’d suggest buying the Pebble Time Steel, which has way more apps, it’s water proof and the battery lasts more than a week. The device is available in silver, black, and rose gold variants.

The bad: Battery only lasts a little more than a day; most models and configurations cost more than they should; requires an iPhone 5 or later to work; interface can be confusing; sometimes slow to communicate with a paired iPhone. The battery life is weak compared with other models and it is not very water resistant. That said, you can easily view the Pebble Time Round display it outdoors, and the screen is always on. On Android, those alerts are actionable, meaning you can do things such as reply to text messages using your voice.

Smartphones are largely viewed as nothing more than a notification machine, the way to see what’s that buzz in my pocket a few seconds faster.

Pebble made its latest smartwatch available for purchase on its website on Friday, with shipments expected to be delivered in two to four weeks. And for those of us with wrists that are more like twigs than tree trunks, there’s an added bonus: it actually fits. “Its circular, all-metal chassis and options for both leather and metal straps make this a device to behold”.
