Mark Richt tweet addresses Jeremy Pruitt rumors

With a subpar 5-3 record this season, Richt’s job security has been highly questioned – especially after an embarrassing 27-3 loss to the Florida Gators.

After the United Kingdom offense failed to convert a fourth-down play at the Georgia 48-yard line on the first drive of the third quarter, the Bulldogs began to assert their dominance. The Dawgs played great defense and managed to cut down on penalties and costly turnovers in this game. He hit 12-of-17 passes for 272 yards in the half.

As LSU’s coach from 2000-2004, Saban’s Tigers were 4-1 against the Crimson Tide. All 13 were in the second half and included a lost fumble and two punts.

Mark Richt’s name doesn’t come up as often as a few others when people list candidates for the Miami Hurricanes coaching job, but maybe it should.

“We think he handles the ball well from center, we think that he can make good reads and has athleticism, if you do pull it to make something good happen”, Richt said. Greyson Lambert and Brice Ramsey combined to go 10 for 19 with 90 yards and a touchdown.

“We say ignore the noise”, he said. “I know we’ll have our hands full, because they still have the physicality about them that you always identify them with offensively. But I can control certain things, and that’s what I’m focusing on and what our staff is focusing on”.

Sitting at 6-3 on the season, the Bulldogs can still earn as many as 10 wins on the season and should be favored in every game to close out its season.

Last week on Twitter, talk surrounding the idea that Richt should be fired reached a boiling point. “But it’s not been reported to me that it was”, Richt said. It’s kind of a home feel. “So I’ll certainly have to figure that one out once I get there”.

The College Football Playoff selection committee, chaired by Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long, has a higher opinion of Alabama than the media or coaches.
