‘Today’ show’s Al Roker reporting weather from Goshen College on Tuesday for
Last year, in what was the first “Rokerthon”, Roker broadcast the weather for 34 hours straight while raising money for the USO.
Meteorologist Al Roker is going across the nation to deliver a local forecast and today he did that a little close to home. The cross country travel aspect of this year’s Rokerthon challenge was aptly coined “taking America by storm”.
Part of downtown Coldwater will shut down this afternoon and become “Rokertown” as NBC “Today” show weatherman Al Roker will be in MI with his attempt to break a world record by broadcasting reports from all 50 states in a week.
Roker will be at Discovery Park of America in Union City.
Roker is attempting to set the world record for fastest forecast in all 50 states.
Rokerthon kicked off in Hawaii on November 6 and will wrap up November 13 in Rockefeller Plaza in NY.
Roker was scheduled to make other Midwest stops on Monday, including Fargo, N.D., Sioux Falls, S.D., Dubuque, Iowa, Hazel Green, Wis., and Lebanon, Kan.
Just before 8 p.m. the official Today Show Twitter account tweet that Roker had arrived in South Dakota.
