TripAdvisor’s best amusement parks in the US

“The Travelers’ Choice awards are recognizing the top zoos and aquariums around the world that are the favorites of the TripAdvisor community”, said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for the Internet site where travelers leave reviews of hotels, restaurants and attractions.

The zoo in Mandai not only came up tops in Asia, but also took the third spot in the world rankings, losing out only to San Diego Zoo (at No 1) and Spain’s Loro Parque.

Singapore’s Universal Studios was named top amusement park in Asia, while the same honour in the zoo category went to Singapore Zoo.

“We are honoured to be recognised once again by TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice 2015 for the strong appeal of our attractions to the travellers around the world”, said Mr Jason Horkin, Vice President of Attractions at Resorts World Sentosa, in the prepared statement. While Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies doesn’t get the mainstream buzz some of the other aquariums on this list do, this is one of the more family-friendly facilities near the top spot, and a great place for children to learn the wonders of the sea. Adventure Cove Waterpark placed ninth among the region’s water parks, ahead of Wild Wild Wet in 10th, the travel website said.

The results are based on millions of reviews from travellers over a 12-month period.
