Jeffrey Dean Morgan Reportedly Joins ‘The Walking Dead’ as Negan
Negan is a very violent criminal in the comic book series, well known for his frequent cursing and intimidation tactics. Negan will be the show’s next major villain. The hit zombie drama has also found an actor to play him; Jeffrey Dean Morgan. His sadistic, manipulative actions on top of his desire to invade nearly every neighboring community he comes across (including Alexandria) made the series’ early villain, The Governor (played by David Morissey in the television show) seem tame in comparison.

Interestingly, THR reports that AMC and Gimple also looked at Justified star Timothy Olyphant and Deadwood veteran Garret Dillahunt for this role.
What do you think about Jeffrey Dean Morgan playing Negan?
It’s been long-rumored and honestly a pretty horribly kept secret that the biggest, baddest villain yet to grace the pages of The Walking Dead comics, Negan, would appear on the show at a few point. Upon his arrival he makes a huge impact, killing Glenn with his prized possession Lucille – a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire.
Morgan, meanwhile, is now stealing every single scene on The Good Wife Season 7.
We’ll bring you more about Morgan’s role (and Glenn’s fate) as we learn it; in the meantime, here’s a sneak peek of next Sunday night’s Episode 6.06, “Always Accountable”.
Since Negan is SUPPOSED to murder Glenn, fans will now speculate even harder that Glenn did not get eaten by walkers. Rumors have already been circulating that Negan would appear towards the end of this season; this announcement provides confirmation, and gives a face to the used vehicle salesman-turned-bloodthirsty, head-melting warlord. He’s a better fit for Dwight, Negan’s scarred lieutenant and it is highly likely that we will see him in this role sooner than later.
