Azealia Banks facing criminal battery investigation
And there was also that whole thing where she lost her mind on a flight from NY to Los Angeles and spit in a passenger’s face because he was blocking her way.
TMZ has obtained footage of a person they claim to be Banks assaulting a security guard at LA club Break Room 86 at the end of last month. In a tweet sent to her 561,000 followers she alleged that the cancelation was due to her being “busy at work”, adding that everyone who purchased tickets would be getting their money back.
Watch security camera video captured of the incident here. TMZ has shared a video that appears to show the rapper trying to pull a venue’s fire alarm, and then scrapping with two security guards along with several other people.
The news emerged just a day after it was announced she is announced that Banks was canceling her latest tour for a second time in a matter of months. As Pitchfork reports, the shows were originally rescheduled in August after co-headliner K. Michelle dropped out. Banks is slated to play at Terminal 5 in NY on November 19. When a guard tried to pull her off, she and her crew jumped on him and attacked.
The Los Angeles Police Department has opened an investigation against Banks for criminal battery, and it’s not clear whether the investigation is the reason why Banks was forced to cancel her upcoming tour dates.
