Colts’ Henry Anderson: Torn ACL
With a nice schedule down the stretch, Luck and his Colts had built a few momentum with the surprise victory, but Henry Anderson will be a big miss to an already struggling Colts defense.
Anderson, a third-round pick out of Stanford in this year’s National Football League draft, left Sunday’s 27-24 win over the Denver Broncos with a knee injury and did not return.
The Colts have placed rookie defensive end Henry Anderson on season-ending injured reserve with what is reportedly a torn ACL. The MRI will confirm the nature of the injury, but the Colts will not the see defensive end on the field again this year.
Anderson has 19 total tackles and one sack this season. However, the loss of Anderson will complicate things even more. It also puts more pressure on Kendall Langford and David Parry, the other two starters on the defensive line who have been playing well, to continue to produce. The remaining defensive tackles are remain question marks.
With Anderson out, the Colts will turn to veteran Billy Winn and young T.Y. McGill to fill the void. These opportunities will likely decrease without Anderson, and their defensive rankings will likely get worse as a result.
Now, the Colts will need to find someone who can step in and replace Anderson (who was replacing Jones). The 5-9, 175-pound Carter signed with the Colts as a free agent on October 20.
The Colts second major defensive line injury of 2015 has hit another indispensable player.
