On Veterans Day, remembering World War II in 4 charts
More than 100 years after the start of World War I, there is still no monument on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., dedicated to the 4.7 million Americans who served during this war.
Britain, France, Australia and Canada also commemorate the veterans of World Wars I and II on or near November 11: Canada has Remembrance Day, while Britain has Remembrance Sunday (the second Sunday of November). “Let us reconsecrate ourselves to the task of promoting an enduring peace so that their efforts shall not have been in vain”.
This Veterans Day, the Honor Flight, along with the Rotary Club of Sedona, will be doing their part in honoring those who have served our country.

Channel 2’s Linda Stouffer was there as bagpipers led the ceremony at Veterans Park at the Atlanta History Center on West Paces Ferry Road.
A 21-gun salute was performed to honor our veterans on this day.
Marchers included veterans, active military personnel, civic groups, youth groups and marching bands on foot, floats and old military vehicles, organizers said.
