‘SNL’ Harnessed the Hate for Donald Trump for Ratings

While the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator probably doesn’t need the cash, he’s about to collect $5,000 courtesy of an immigrant rights group for heckling Donald Trump this weekend on “SNL”. When he was asked by Trump what he was doing, David said, “I heard if I yelled that, they’d give me five thousand dollars”.

White House hopefuls now have seven days to claim the 12 minutes and 5 seconds of free NBC air time after Donald Trump’s hosting gig on Saturday Night Live.

“She said a few things about me that were hurtful and untrue”, Trump stated, adding, “I said a few things about her that were mean but completely accurate”. For all his television experience, Trump is still an ungainly performer – as are many “SNL” guest hosts – but the writers did a good job of working him in. According to the network’s estimates, Trump’s latest SNL appearance is set to break the season premiere viewer count of 6.3 million to 10 million.

Trump has slipped in polling in recent weeks, however, as retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson has gained momentum.

In a sketch, it featured Trump in 2018 as the elected president speaking to his cabinet in the Oval Office discussing how much better the country is now that he is president.

Donald Trump’s appearance on Saturday Night Live might not have generated many laughs, but that wasn’t due to a lack of viewership. While there were numerous petitions to NBC asking that the controversial GOP presidential nominee be replaced as the show’s host, Donald Trump went on to not only host SNL, but achieve ratings success. But the story on social media came with little praise as many voiced their concerns over the network enlisting the businessman as host after its own severance of ties earlier this year over his unsavory comments about Mexicans.

Following the announcement of his appearance as the host of “Saturday Night Live”, a Latino Group reportedly offered a reward of $5,000 to any individual who could disturb Trump in the show. The site mentioned that Donald Trump was confident to raise the show’s ratings.
